We are inviting you to take part in a research study for people with Lichen Planus OR Lichen Sclerosus.
For the Lichen Planus Study, you will visit a study center approximately 6-10 times over 16 weeks during your participation. Upon completion, participants will have the opportunity to join the open-label extension study that will last 16 weeks. There will be a follow-up visit about 30 days after your last application of the study cream. The study will be conducted at over 22 study centers throughout North America.
For the Lichen Sclerosus Study, you will visit a study center approximately 6-7 times over 12 weeks during your participation. Upon completion, participants will have the opportunity to join the open-label extension study that will last 12 weeks. There will be a follow-up visit about 30 days after your last application of the study cream. The study will be conducted at over 12 study centers throughout North America.
The Lichen Planus and Lichen Sclerosus Studies are being done to assess how well an investigational cream works to treat patients with Lichen Planus OR Lichen Sclerosus.
All study-related visits, tests, and investigational cream will be provided at no cost. In addition, participants may receive compensation for travel expenses. No health insurance is required.
What happens if I sign up? We will match you to a study center in your area that needs volunteers with Lichen Planus OR Lichen Sclerosus or notify you when one becomes available. The study team will then contact you and you may have the opportunity to participate if qualified.
If you think you might like to participate in the Lichen Planus or Lichen Sclerosus Studies or would like more information, please enter your information below so we can see if you may qualify and can contact you about the studies. Keep in mind that participation is entirely voluntary. If you do decide to take part in a study, you may change your mind about participating at any time.
Lichen Planus is an inflammatory skin condition characterized by purple, polygonal, pruritic papules, and plaques. The lesions are often covered by lacy, reticular (netlike), white lines known as Wickham striae. Lichen planus can affect any skin-derived tissues, including the skin (most commonly), nails, and mucous membranes (like the nose or mouth).
At first, it typically affects the surfaces of the wrists, forearms, and legs and can be diagnosed via a skin biopsy taken by a doctor.
Lichen Sclerosus is a chronic inflammatory condition marked by white scaly plaques involving anogenital areas.
Lichen Sclerosus lesions are usually seen as white plaques, which may be atrophic or thickened, often present on labia minora and majora but may involve perineum and perianal areas.
The Lichen Planus and Lichen Sclerosus Studies are two different studies: one for Lichen Planus and one for Lichen Sclerosus.
A research study (also called a clinical trial) is a medical study that helps to answer important questions about an investigational cream – these may include how well an investigational study cream works for a certain condition. All medications must be tested in clinical research studies before they can be approved and prescribed to patients.
A research study is the process by which new and innovative medications, interventions and treatments are approved and brought to market, so people can live happier and healthier lives. Even over-the-counter medications, such as NSAIDs, you may have used to counteract a headache, have gone through the clinical research study process before it was available at your local pharmacy.

Patients who qualify to take part in the study may receive compensation for travel expenses. Please discuss this with the study team when they contact you.
There is no cost to participate in the Lichen Planus and Lichen Sclerosus Studies. If you qualify, all study-related visits, tests, and investigational cream will be provided at no cost.
The research team will be able to explain more about what the Lichen Planus or Lichen Sclerosus Studies will involve, and it is up to you to decide if you want to take part. Participation in this study is voluntary. Whether or not you decide to participate in this study will not affect your current or future relationships with your doctors. If you decide to participate, you are free to withdraw at any time without affecting those relationships.
We match you to a study center within a close travel distance from your home. If we are not running the study in your area currently, with your permission, we will keep you in our database and reach out once a study in your area becomes available. If, at any time, you decided you no longer want your information stored, you can opt out and we will delete your details.
